Education

I am a local, I grew up in Desert Hot Springs while attending Palm Springs High School from which I graduated in 1993. I attended the University of California  Riverside where I recieved a Bachelor of Science in Math and  my teaching credential. Before coming to teach for PSUSD, I recieved my Masters in  Mathematics in June of 2003 from UCR, and my National Board Certification in Mathematics  in December of 2003. .

Teaching and Coaching Experience

I did my student teaching at Rubidoux High School and taught there for 6 years before coming to PSUSD. I have been teaching for Palm Springs Unified  School District since 2004.  I  have taught every single math class the district  has to offer except A.P.  Statistics. I have taught calculus for 10 out of the 12 years that I taught at DHSHS. I was the lead teacher from 2009 through 2011 and I have been math math co-lead since 2013.  I have coached J.V. volleyball (7 years) and was the head J.V. baseball coach from the Spring of 2005 to 2014 and assistant varsity coach 2015-2016.  I am currently a Secondary Math Coach for Palm Springs Unified.

Teaching Philosophy

I have a love for math which I enjoy passing onto my students.  My enthusiasm for the subject shows through my energy in my class.  I am very excited with the direction that education is heading because I strongly believe that learning math is not a spectator sport. I have a sense of pride teaching for DHSHS because I grew up in the town that I am teaching.  I love coaching for the same reason that I love teaching math, I have a passion that I would like to pass on to others.
